A Photo Entry

Fall finally came to Lancaster, and I managed to get a few shots before the huge winds and drastic drop in temperature took it away. This is the tree in our front yard. Before we moved here, we were told it was beautiful in the fall. Until about ten days ago, I was beginning to have my doubts, but I see I need to work on having a little more faith in what others tell me.

This is the same tree and the front of the manse. That window in the peak just begs to have a mysterious figure standing in it and then disappearing, doesn't it? I'll have to see what I can do about that.

This is the side and back of the manse. We're so popular, we have a parking lot in our back yard.

This is the church. Bob's in there somewhere.
These are our neighbors. No one's invited me out to play yet, but they don't mind when I go wandering around on their property.

So, here I am, proud of myself for getting pictures on my blog, and then I discover Ian's been busy making his own YouTube videos. Nothing like being put to shame by your little brother.

Beautiful photos, Emily. You are living in my dream house! Red brick, double storey, wrap-around porch - I'd move to the US for one of those. Hope you and Bob are very, very happy there.

I LOVE old cemetaries. What is the most interesting gravestone that you have found? Please tell us about it sometime.

Does that peak window overlook the graveyard? There must be at least one ghost story waiting to be told about the manse and the graveyard.

I still prefer my own house, but you are luckier than me with the colors and the surroundings. You have very interestig neighbours. I bet you are going to stay awake at nights making up stories with the names on the stones

Wow! This looks just absolutely glorious! And the neighbours seem ideal - no disputes over building work or boundary fences there!

It's really lovely! I hope you will post pictures when it will be covered with snow too... I guess it's the perfect setting for really gothic stories!

Beautiful tree and what a wonderful house! Even the church is picture perfect. And you won't have to worry about the neighbors having any loud parties :)

Charlotte, yes, it's my dream house, too. Still wondering when I'm going to wake up. You're welcome to visit and hang out on the porch with me.

IM, snow is expected this Sunday. Oh yeah, but trying to graduate precludes dropping everything and coming up, doesn't it?

Ms. Make Tea, yes, just like the Brontes. Now, if only I could write like them...

Cam, hmmm...now I'll have to go hunt for the most interesting gravestone and take a picture. Unfortunately, the peak window overlooks the Lincoln Highway not graveyard. Perhaps, though, a headless horseman will one day travel down the highway, blocking the truck traffic.

Dorr, maybe you can come explore the graveyard with me, and we can do a double post on the most interesting gravestone.

Mandarine, yes, stories about the names on the graves have been forming in my mind.

Litlove, of course, there may be some of these neighbors who eventually come knocking at my door asking if they can come live in my attic.

Smithereens, yes, snow pictures will come when we get enough to take some pretty ones.

Stef, think I'll have to worry about loud parties at the church?

Linser, why don't the two of you come for Christmas (and bring Ian)?

Court and Bloglily, yes, I'm very lucky. Come visit!
