Sorry!

I truly intended to write a Monday Music post yesterday. I want to add a coda to my post on The Black Angel. I've got a post about endnotes that's dying to have eyes other than mine on it. I've done quite a bit of thinking about faith issues lately and have at least 1 1/2 posts niggling at me. Courtney tagged me for the Honest Scrap meme, and well, I'm sure everyone wants to know 10 more things about me not already exposed on this blog.

However, my life has been put on hold. Damn Hobs, who handed me Tana French's In the Woods when we were in Sherman's Bookstore back in August and said, "Here, buy this, now." I did (well, not then and there, but I went back and bought it). I've started reading it. Every spare moment I have from now on will be dedicated to this book until I am done. Sorry. Blog posts will just have to wait. Meanwhile, Hobs is busy writing noir over on his blog. Go get hooked on him while you wait for me to come back.

I got hooked on In the Woods too. And then immediately on her next book, The Likeness.

See you when you re-emerge!

Gumbomum, good to know I am not alone.

You know it is perfectly fine to not blog because you are in the middle of a really good book. Can't wait to hear about it and all the other things you have to post.

So does this mean I should read In the Woods myself or not? I would like to, and your recommendation confirms that, but I'm afraid I won't get my papers graded if I do.

Just to forewarn you, as soon as you've read In the Woods, there's The Likeness to be going on with.

Oh, I LOVED In The Woods - I disregarded everything while reading it. I did not, however, immediately turn to The Likeness, although I hope to read it soon!

As great as In the Woods is, The Likeness is even better. Don't start reading it unless you want to get sucked in for the duration.

Stef, thanks for letting me know that.

Dorr, umm...I would say you'd better wait until Xmas break if you don't want the students rioting for their grades.

MFS, yes, I think I'd better wait on that one.

Court, I think I will be like you (surprise, surprise and save The Likeness for later).

Hobs, no, I think I will wait till Thanksgiving or something, when I've got a few days off for reading.
